To most teens, that means chilling and having fun with their friends. For me and my colleagues, it means DEADLINE DAY! It was really nerve-racking for me because I had to leave from 10am-12pm to cover a community meeting and the deadline was 2pm (or so I thought). I speed wrote my first draft because I thought that the deadline was 2pm and I found out (when it was 2pm) that the deadline was just Friday (in general). I was quite frustrated because I couldn't get a official comment on my story since it was so sensitive and controversial. Transcribing all my audio was a pain in the butt. I had so much to transcribe and people kept stuttering and tripping over their words.I hope my next Tuesday my article will be so refined that it'll be amazing. I worked my butt off today and I'm exhausted. For some reason, it was the hardest day for me to wake up out of all the days that I've been at BAMMA. Hopefully, this weekend will be really chill and my stress level won't be so high.
Staying in the same room, staring at the computer screen and writing a news article with incomplete sources was not the best way to spend my Friday (to say the least). I wish I had been able to go and help someone with their stories and not think about my own story. I'm so glad that I met friends here that help me laugh and give me a bit of a distraction for my stress.
A day without laughs is a day gone to waste.
