First of all, R.I.P to the K.O.P. Michael Jackson you will be missed...
Aside from that, yesterday was good.
First, me and Jorge went to the USF campus and interviewed their top prospect. That was a completely interesting experience; not only did I get an amazing interview with him, but I got to be in the locker room, meet the coach, AND meet Jesse Foppert! (Ali is still gushing about that; I can tell ha.) It was cool to actually be in that whole college baseball atmosphere, considering that's something I really want to do when I get to college.
After that, me and Renee went back home to SL to get some valuable info about B.E.T.A. Thank god I did, because it made my article ten times better than what it was before. I was able to get so many different perspectives that even Picasso would be envious. It was great to be back home, if only for a second, because I was able to connect with the outside world for the first time in days.
After all of my field work was done, we all went to this church on the corner of Geary and Franklin and held a fundraiser to get some money for next year's BAMMA class. (Funny how we can't stop thinking of the future even when we're in the present...) What was ultra great about it was the fact that I was able to see my mom. (Yay!) Yes, she might be a lil bit TOO nice, but I was glad she was able to see me and check up on me once. I bet she's been going crazy without me....hmm maybe not ha.
Anyway, at that banquet, I met this man named Kim Komenich, who was impressed by the speech I made at the banquet and offered me the opportunity to meet with the Chronicle's sports editor! (I'm dreaming...right?) As soon as BAMMA ends, I'm going to call him and see if he still has me in his plans ya know?
So, to update you on my projects...
-My video documentary is going great, as I was able to shoot some good footage out on the streets yesterday. I'm finally learning how to use this stuff...thank god.
-My song is on hiatus....til 2012. I told you Zoneil was going to cut off GarageBand! I know he does it for good reasons, but it still kinda gar-bauge that I can't work on my music as well as my writing. Guess you really CAN'T have your cake and eat it too. (Mmmmm.....cake....)
-My story is done (well, the first draft, anyway.) Every editor seems to think I have the potential needed to be a great journalist, and although I do like when they compliment my writing, I still try to stay somewhat humble. Of course, some things are easier said than done.
Well, stay tuned for the next episode.
Peace, love, and a silver glove.
-T.
